'PLL' Creator Talks 'A' Day Reveal!
By JAYMIE BAILEY
March 16, 2012
March 19, better known as "A Day" to the fans of Pretty Little Liars, is right around the corner and the show's season finale has the potential to be the best yet. Clues have been piling up around Rosewood as the PLLs (Spencer, Emily, Hanna and Aria) will stop at nothing to figure out who's been torturing them since the disappearance of their friend, Alison. During the episode, the girls finally unmAsk their foe and the question everyone has been dying to know will be answered.
What do the liars have in store for them during their final stretch to reveal A's identity? I had the chance to speak with the executive producer, Marlene King, about the finale and A's big reveal, and it comes to no surprise that her secret-keeping abilities are possibly better than the liars! It's safe to say this episode will have viewers on the edge of their seats and will leave them wanting more.
Insider.com: In the last episode, viewers learn that Jenna can see! What can you tell me about that and her role in the finale?
Marlene King: Jenna is going to continue her charade as long as she can, and she definitely plays a big role in the finale.
Meet The Girl Behind Jenna's Glasses!
Insider: Also, in the last episode, Alison told Spencer not to pay too much attention to the details. In the finale, will the girls realize what's been parked right in front of them?
Marlene: It's fair to say yes.
Insider: All of the couples have had their fair share of torture, but one relationship still remains somewhat unresolved. Will Spencer and Toby share a scene in the finale?
Marlene: Spencer and Toby share a couple of scenes in the finale. It's a lovely story that's completely separate from the "A" storyline.
Keegan Allen Talks Spoby, Jenna & The Shocking 'A' Reveal
Insider: In the finale, are the girls going to get an explanation from "A" or will that be a lingering question to be answered in season 3?
Marlene: One reason I'm so excited about sharing the finale with the fans is that they don't just find out who "A" is. They find out why "A" is "A." The viewers know long before the last scene and it's a relief.
Insider: Speaking of season 3, can we expect another time jump like in the second half of season 2 or will the story pick up where it left off?
Marlene: We're not going to talk much about the next season, but there is a really big cliffhanger that launches season 3.
Torrey DeVitto Reveals Melissa's Mental State
Insider: The fans are dying to know more about Aria and Ezra. Can you tell me a little about their scene in the finale?
Marlene: Aria and Ezra share a special scene in the finale. As somewhat of a spoiler, I've also tweeted that Lady Antebellum's Just A Kiss will play a part in their moment together. It's a beautiful scene.
Insider: Do we learn more about Maya and her situation?
Marlene: Yes, there is a resolution to the Maya storyline in the finale.
Insider: Will Alison make an appearance in the finale?
Marlene: Yes. Absolutely. She plays an important role in finding out who "A" is.
The Pretty Little Liars finale airs on Monday, March 19 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family. You don't want to miss this one!
