Will Officer Garrett Be 'unmAsked?'
Pretty Little Liars' is about to do away with all the red herrings and speculation tonight as A is finally unmasked!
And one of the prime suspects to be the texting terror is Officer Garrett Reynolds -- after all, he schemed with Jenna to frame the girls for Alison's murder and withheld page 5 of her autopsy. But then again, would A really frame himself for the house fire that nearly claimed Jenna's life?
To get his take on matters, I rang up Yani Gellman, the actor behind Rosewood's most mysterious lawman, to find out what you can expect from tonight's hotly anticipated episode!
Insider.com: We've made it to A Day! How are you feeling with mere hours to go before the big reveal?
Yani Gellman: Oh man, I'm on the edge of my seat. I literally can't wait. I'm so excited for everyone to see the episode – but at the same time, I kinda don't want it to end. Well, not end, but I've gotten used to having this mystery around. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself next season. But it's exciting because with the A reveal, we really do enter a new chapter in this big mystery.
Insider: How have you liked bringing this smirky villain to life?
Yani: Yea, it's been a riot. It's so much fun having the license to creep around the town and stalk these girls. To be on all sides of the fence and never know where I'm going to pop up, it's so much fun. Each time I get a new script, I love finding out what creepy stuff Garrett gets up to! I can't wait to get back into the character next season and see where we take him because Marlene [King, creator] has built a really fun role to play.
Marlene King Teases Tonight's Big 'A' Reveal
Insider: What can you reveal about tonight's episode -- will we find out why Garrett was arrested, or why A put his badge in the fire wreck?
Yani: Well, we don't actually know if that was his badge -- or why it was put there. We didn't see his name on the badge. We do find out why Garrett was arrested. And how that came to pass. But at this point, we're so close and if I ruined it, I would have to flee town [laughs]. But I can tell you that we do find out to a certain extent what happens with his arrest.
Insider: What was your reaction to learning A's identity?
Yani: Shock. Surprise. And a great deal of satisfaction in terms of where the story ends up. That said, I can't honestly tell you I know what happens in the finale or how this storyline ends up because aside from the scenes I filmed, I don't know a lot of what else happens in tonight's episode. They were very secretive with the scripts in the final days. I'm still in the dark just like you are about some things as well.
Insider: It kind of sounds like you're as big a fan of the show as the audience is.
Yani: Oh my god, absolutely. We're all just as big of fans of the show as anybody we've ever met. If not more so in some ways. When we get new scripts, everyone is on set madly flipping through. Then we gossip about it and rumors spread through the set about what’s going to happen. We're along for the ride as much as everyone else. We have some advance knowledge, but at the same time, we're big fans of the show and Marlene's work and can't wait to see where things head.
