SJP Calls New Carrie Bradshaw
Sex and the City fans are understandably nervous about The CW's potential new series, The Carrie Diaries, which would bring the previously unseen, and probably pun-filled life, of a teenage Carrie Bradshaw to TV.
Earlier this month it was revealed that Bridge To Terabithia star AnnaSophia Robb would slip into young Carrie's KEDS -- the show, based on Candace Bushnell's spin-off book series, takes place in the early 80s.
And while fans are reserving judgement, AnnaSophia got the ultimate SATC stamp of approval when Sarah Jessica Parker reached out personally to wish her well!
"She sent me a letter! I wrote her one back, too," AnnaSophia told Us Weekly. "She was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!"
As for bringing this never-before-seen version of Miss. Bradshaw to life, AnnaSophia says that she's been working really hard on bringing this new vision to life. "We've been doing a lot of rehearsals this week, and I've been watching the show and really trying to click with the character," she said.
Although AnnaSophia understands the inevitable comparisons to HBO's seminal series, she says, "I know everyone's going to compare it to Sex and the City, but we're never going to be that. The show is more for my generation, but it's set in the '80s, so it's fun."
