Smash, one of NBC's brightest new standouts, has been renewed for another season.
The critically acclaimed musical drama -- which follows two actresses (Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty) vying for the coveted role of Marilyn Monroe in a Broadway show -- is NBC's No. 1 drama in adults 18-49, with total viewers of 7.7 million, the network said Thursday in a statement.
