Kelly Clarkson Debuts 'Duets' Duo
Kelly Clarkson is returning to reality TV this summer with Duets, a singing competition on ABC that pairs newbies with famous mentors -- but unlike The Voice or The X-Factor, these relationships will culminate in weekly paired performances. Hence the title.
Last night at her concert in San Diego, Kelly brought two singers out on stage that may end up being contestants on the show. "I have looked at so many videos of people singing, that want to be on the show with me," she said. "I've come down to a few people that I'm very excited about, but my test for them is to put them in front of an audience, so do ya'll mind being a part of this?"
The crowd, as suspected, did not. So Kelly brought out Jason Farrell for a cover of The Civil Wars' Poison and Wine, which was decent. But when compared to Kelly's second singer, there was no contest. Julianna Gutierrez slayed Georgia On My Mind and in my mind, cemented her slot on Kelly's team of two.
