'Vampire Diaries' Star Teases Crazy Finale
With his sire bond broken and supernatural secret outed to The Council, tomorrow night's episode of The Vampire Diaries promises to be a massively important one for Tyler Lockwood -- and actor Michael Trevino.
I caught up with Michael to find out what fans, regardless of their ship (Klaroline, Forwood, Klyler) should brace for with tomorrow night's epic-sode
Insider.com: Last week was a big episode for Tyler -- what did you enjoy about Before Sunset?
Michael Trevino: I liked that Tyler was finally able to stand up to Klaus. I didn't like this whole sired element – when he was first sired, Tyler was excited and happy to have this other supernatural element to him. He felt more powerful and validated by it but that slowly turned into a negative for him once he started doing things he didn't want to do. I like how that shift played out this season.

Insider: What can fans expect from the finale now that The Council knows about Tyler & Caroline's supernatural status?
Michael: You would think that their parents are going to tell them about it. Clue them in on what’s happening ... Alaric is trying to rid all vampires from Mystic Falls and that's a problem for both of them, so they have to decide if they're going to stay and ride it out or leave town until things cool down. As you know, that's what Tyler does [laughs]. Tomorrow is all about them having to make that decision.
Insider: While Tyler was gone last time, Caroline got close with Klaus. Even in "death," does he still have part of her heart?
Michael: I think the fact that Caroline knows Tyler was making a 100 percent effort to save Elena and 100 percent stood up to Klaus, their relationship is stronger than ever. Especially since now that [Klaus is] completely gone and not an issue any more.
Insider: How epic are the cliffhangers in tomorrow's episode?
Michael: I'd have to say they're a 10 out of 10. It's such a big finale. Even compared to season one and two. It's crazy. There are big stunts and a lot of action we fit into 42 minutes. But as soon as you think everything is settled and kind of cool, it just kicks it up another notch and you’re left with a million more questions about where the hell this show can go in season four in the last 30 seconds. No one is safe forever in Mystic Falls. One by one, we'll all go.
Insider: If Tyler survives to season four, what would you like to do with him you haven't gotten to yet?
Michael: If Tyler were to survive, I would like for him to have scenes with the other characters. Elena or Bonnie in particular. See how those relationships work because it's so much about Tyler and Caroline – and with that, I'd like to see where their relationship can go without the distraction of Klaus jumping in and messing things up.
