First Look: 'Downton Abbey' Season Three

The only thing Downton Abbey fans are anticipating more than the season three premiere (likely to be in early 2013) is the arrival of Shirley MacLaine as Martha Levinson, Lady Cora's mother, who will naturally be a thorn in the side of Dowager Countess.

On last night's AFI Tribute to Shirley MacLaine, her Downton daughter, Elizabeth McGovern, debuted a first look video of Martha meeting The Dowager. And it goes about as well as you might expect/hope.

The third season will also feature a devastating death and fans have speculated that Dame Maggie Smith's much-beloved character will be one headed to that great Abbey in the sky despite the network denying the rumors.
