Wednesday night’s So You think You Can Dance had its first-ever quadruple elimination, kicking off Alexa Anderson, Janaya French, Daniel Baker and Nick Bloxsom Carter. TheInsider.com caught up with the ousted dancers to talk about their time on the show, as well as judges Adam Shankman and Nigel Lythgoe, who dished about last night’s high-impact show and elimination.

Step Up Revolution producer and guest judge Adam Shankman talked about the difficulty in sending so many dancers home at once, "It was sad sending four people home … I’ve never had to be a part of anything like that, so it was hard."

While Shankman lamented about the quadruple departure, judge and SYTYCD creator Nigel Lythgoe was less sentimental about the mass exodus, "It’s really important to realize that the Top 20 we believe this year are the best 20 we’ve had this season for sure and some of the best dancers we’ve ever had so I am not going to get distraught on who is going home … because at the end of the day the competition means we have one male and one female at the end of it that win."

Australian dancer Daniel Baker remained upbeat about his short time on the competition show, "I’m a little disappointed. I honestly thought that my journey would be a little bit longer. But I am excited for my future. The exposure the show gives you can’t beat."

Despite the good times and positive experience, Janaya French admitted there were some trying times on SYTYCD, "The hardest part was staying strong and staying myself in this. … I am a really positive person but I found moments where I was so down on myself and it was just not 'me,' and it just felt weird. It’s harder than you think to keep your head up in all this."
