Kevin Smith Delivers a Show for Movie Lovers
By DENNY DIRECTO
August 03, 2012
Known by many movie buffs as "Silent Bob" and the director of indie classics such as Clerks, Chasing Amy and Dogma, Kevin Smith is not one for "judging art." The famed director has found a response to the Rotten Tomatoes system in Spoilers.
The format allows Smith to take 50 film fans, randomly selected from those who apply for tickets online, to see some of the summer's most anticipated new releases, at a regular screening like the rest of the public, before heading back to the Spoilers studio to dissect and chat about the movie. "[It's a] fun way to watch and talk about movies," Kevin adds.
While half of the show is dedicated to these conversations between film fans, he also invites actors, directors, and other famous guests to join in on the fun.
Just talking to him you literally see his passion (ie: he sweats) for movies. Spoilers is in every way a show for movie lovers by a movie lover.
Watch my full interview where Kevin also talks about a possible second season and how his show was affected in the wake of the Aurora, CO shooting.
Spoilers airs Mondays on Hulu & Hulu Plus.
