After six seasons of fighting, f*cking and frolicking throughout Seaside, Miami and Italy, MTV has decided the upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore will be its last.

According to Variety, who broke the news, MTV plans to air a one-hour retrospective called Gym, Tan, Look Back prior to the September 6 Video Music Awards. The special will also give viewers a sneak peek at the new season.

Given the show's declining ratings in addition to Snooki's baby and The Situation's recent rehab stay, it's not a huge shock the vacation is over for the Shore-ians.

The final season of Jersey Shore will premiere on October 4.
