With a little over one month left until the season three premiere of The Walking Dead, AMC released a behind-the-scenes video featuring executive producer/creator Robert Kirkman, where he explores the iconic prison set featured in the series' third season.

"I never imagined I would be here, standing in this prison," Kirkman says in the video. "It's really strange to think about all the pages coming in from Charlie Adlard -- seven, eight years ago -- when we were doing the prison storyline in the comic book. To actually go onto second levels and walk up stairs and go in cells is absolutely completely bizarre."

"Things that are in comics should never exist in real life ... I feel really uncomfortable in here, frankly," he jokes. Check out the video below!

The Walking Dead Season 3 premiere October 14 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
