After the month Amy Poehler has had, she needs a stiff drink.

Stepping out on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno with a new haircut and a show-stopping yellow dress, the Parks and Recreation star was able to have a few laughs despite announcing a few weeks back that she and husband Will Arnett were separating. The funny couple wed on August 29, 2003, and and have two children, Archie, three, and Abel, two.

While on Leno, Poehler, 41, got the crowd going when after the commercial break, she was seen smoking a cigarette and attempting to drink a martini. "Oh God, this is terrible. This tastes terrible," she said after taking a puff of her (faux) cigarette. After taking a sip of the martini, she added, "That's awful too. ... I liked it in theory but not in practice."

The actress is once again up for an Emmy and will be presenting at the awards show on Sunday night. Though she's been nominated several times prior, she's yet to take home a statue. "It's a fancy losers lounge," she said of not winning.

Poehler and the Parks and Rec gang will return to NBC on Sept. 20.
