The political drama Scandal certainly lived it to its name in its first season, not only with the political scandals that the team is trying to prevent from spreading but also between characters.

With Season 2 just about to premiere, star Kerry Washington took The Insider's Kevin Frazier on a tour of the show's recreation of the White House's Oval Office and gave a preview of the steamy upcoming season, in which her character "Olivia Pope" continues a secret relationship with the President.

"When the season begins, Olivia and Fitz, the President of the United States, are definitely trying to do the right thing," said Washington, who plays a crisis management director. "They're really trying to behave themselves, but there's a connection....There's a love there."

Washington's co-star Katie Lowes, who plays her co-worker on the show, marveled at the irony of the various scandals within the show.

"I think [the show's tagline] 'Dirty little secrets always come out' is great because everybody who works in the office has dirty little secrets as well," she said. "So, we're always working on secrets: interpersonally in the office and outside with her clients."
