Apolo Ohno received quite a flattering comment from the likes of judge Carrie Ann Inaba on Dancing with the Stars in the first week of competition, when she told him he was "three-thousand times" sexier than he was during his initial Dancing run. At a recent rehearsal with partner Karina Smirnoff, the Olympic speed skater responded to the comments.
"I didn't label myself like that, but I'll take it," said Ohno, who originally appeared on Dancing's fourth season with Julianne Hough. "When I danced with Julianne...not only did we both look so young...but I was young. I was still training in my sport full-time...I was living in this bubble...Everything was very pure, and now I've had life experience."
After receiving an ingratiating compliment for last week's quickstep, which earned him an above-average score of 24.5, Ohno and his professional dancing partner plan to heat up the dancer floor again this week with a sensual dance for iconic dance week.
"Our dance is the only dance that's not high-impact and lots of energy," Smirnoff previewed. "It's full of energy, but it's different. It's subtle; it's sensual; and just very, very sexy."
Although he won the Mirrorball Trophy his first time around over runners-up Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson, who were recently eliminated from the All-Stars season, Ohno revealed that signing back on for another season with the show wasn't an immediate decision.
"There was a lot of delay in response," the two-time Olympic gold medalist admitted, "'cause this show takes your entire life...You have no time for anything else when you're on the show--literally."
Continue following Ohno on his journey to win a second Mirrorball trophy Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC on Dancing with the Stars.
