It's been two years since The Hills aired their final season, and many still wonder how much of the MTV rich-kid show was scripted and how much was actually real. Lauren Conrad spills what actually went down during the filming of the hit "reality" series.

"I think the story they told wasn’t a dishonest one. The way they did it sometimes was," Conrad, 26, admits to Allure magazine. "They aren't going to be there for everything. Sometimes two of their main characters will get into a fight, and that’s important to the story line. The [producers] need that reenacted. Their things was always: It did happen. They're not making this up: you just didn’t see it."

So, were the romances real? After all, her Hills costars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are still married. Conrad reveals, "Brody [Jenner] and I did date. It was pretty brief. There was definitely editing to drag it out."

As for her real-life relationship status post-Hills fame, she tells the magazine, "You don’t want a slob, but you don't want a guy whose constantly borrowing your tweezers…the last year and a half, I was dating a lot, and it's slim pickings." She is currently dating law student William Tell.

UPDATE: Lauren Conrad appeared on Watch What Happens Live last night, where there was lots of Hills discussion. Watch!
