'Revenge' Star Previews 'Horrible' Event
I'll be honest, Charlotte Grayson was not my favorite character during Revenge's first season. She wasn't even my fifth favorite character. So when her mortality became a finale cliffhanger, I found myself utterly indifferent.
Therefore, no one is more surprised than me that Charlotte is rocketing up the rankings in season two -- guess that's what happens when you grow a backbone and purge the pills! According to Christa B. Allen, my love will only continue to grow as Charlotte continues asserting her independence this season and, potentially, joining Emily Thorne's quest for revenge!
TheInsider.com: Once you found out that Charlotte was surviving to see season two, what excited you about her journey this year?
Christa B. Allen: Yea, there was that whole question [laughs]. I was excited to see that the writers pulled out all the stops. People are really trying to mess with Charlotte, but she's fighting back – you'll especially see that on Sunday. You'll also see how awful Conrad is to Charlotte. She's not taking any of that mess – and by the way, people are starting to side with her, and stand by her, which is great. Everyone hid everything from her for so long that she's now taking control, doing the research and putting her foot in the door to say, "I want to know what's going on!" She's got her sister on the scene right now, and making alliances in every corner. You can't not be Team Charlotte this season.

Insider.com: Obviously Conrad is not winning Father of the Year, but isn't Victoria worse?
Christa: No, I disagree! I think there is goodness in Victoria. Through all the horrible things she does, I think somewhere deep down there's a good motive. Whether she acts on it correctly is another issue. Conrad is a sick mess. I think he's truly twisted while Victoria is kind of like a bumbling teenager in the way that she makes mistakes, like her affair with David Clark. I think she's well-intended.
Insider.com: This Sunday's episode features Charlotte throwing a baby shower for "Emily" -- what can you tease?
Christa: I can tell you that after this episode, should anyone get an invite to a baby shower at the Grayson household, decline, decline, decline! [laughs] It goes horribly, horribly, wrong.
Insider.com: Looking ahead, what are you excited for the fans to see this season?
Christa: I'm excited to show everyone that we keep this story going with flair and a vengeance. There was a lot of doubt after the first season if we could keep this incredible revenge plot going because it seemed like there's an obvious stopping point. She's going to get revenge and then what more can you say? But I think people will be really impressed by how many facets Emily Thorne's tale has.
Insider.com: Would you like to see Charlotte join Emily's quest for revenge at some point?
Christa: I absolutely think that would be a brilliant angle to explore. The thing is, I feel like, at this point, Charlotte and her mother are pretty well bonded. Even through all the madness, so once it comes out that Emily Thorne is really Amanda Clarke, and therefore Charlotte's sister, she'll have to make a decision between her mother and Emily, who are mortal enemies.
