For a very long time, the future of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome was as much in doubt as the future of the human race after the Cylon destruction of the 12 colonies. Now, the long-awaited prequel to Battlestar Galactica is finally coming this Friday – the first of several webisodes to be released on Machinima's YouTube channel.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome will roll out as ten 7-12 minute webisodes over the next four weeks, with the first episode of the series set to premiere this Friday, November 9. So say we all! The show pilot is still set to air on Syfy in early 2013, with an unrated DVD release expected to follow suit.

The two-hour Blood and Chrome pilot takes place in between the time frame of the short-lived, less-than-stellar Caprica and the critically acclaimed Battlestar Galactica, following young Viper pilot William Adama's (played by Luke Pasqualino) first days assigned to the Galactica during the first Cylon War.

Watch the killer new Blood and Chrome trailer for liberal doses of everything that fans have grown to love about Galactica, from the blue military uniforms and riveted gangplanks to the incredible visual effects, awe-inspiring dogfights and even a heavy dose of 1978-style Cylon Raiders.
