This news comes after several reported outbursts by Chevy, including one on-set tirade in which he allegedly used the N-word in voicing his disdain for his character's bigotry.
The news source reports that, as most of the show's fourth season has already been shot, Chevy's character Pierce Hawthorne will only be missing from the "one or two episodes" that have yet to be filmed.
Community returns for its fourth season on Feb. 7 on NBC.
