We caught up with some Golden Globe nominees after the announcements were made early this morning, including stars from the TV series' Smash, New Girl and Nashville.

Megan Hilty said she found out about Smash being nominated for Best TV Series on her way to work, when her phone suddenly blew up with emails.

Co-star Katharine McPhee said she also thinks the nomination will give the actors added momentum going into the new season. "I just think it's a nice morale booster. When you're in mid-season you're kind of in this bubble, and nothing is aired until you're practically done shooting the entire season," she said. "So it's nice to kind of have this as a way to get us excited for a second season and get the audience excited for a second season."

Anjelica Huston said she heard the news literally first thing this morning. "I heard about it quite early, my manager called me on the phone and said, 'You have an extra hour of sleep this morning AND we got nominated for a Golden Globe.'" She added that she was also thrilled that her brother Danny was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Magic City and her nephew Jack's series Boardwalk Empire was nominated Best TV Series, Drama.

We also spoke with New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel -- who was nominated for Best Actress in Comedy Series -- and Max Greenfield, who got a nod for Best Supporting Actor. Zooey acknowledged being excited about the announcements, but added,  "I get nervous, so I didn't want to expect anything."  Max said it was much too early to much celebrating after hearing the news, but he said his daughter did a pretty good "happy dance" after being woken up by the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Watch the video to also hear Katharine and Megan tease a few surprises in store for the upcoming Smash season and for Brooke Anderson's chat with Connie Britton about her Best Actress nomination for Nashville.
